Return Policy & Adjustments


NOTICE: In an effort to reduce packaging waste, we eliminated paper packing slips from online orders. If you need a receipt or gift receipt for your order, you can find it 2 ways! Visit the Order Details section of the order and click the Receipts button, or you can click the Track Order link at the top of the site and input your order information.

We will accept unwashed, unworn or defective merchandise within 45 days of the purchase date. Bring your item(s) with price tags attached and the printed receipt, gift receipt or digital receipt (via Ship Confirmation email or online account). Returns will not be accepted without the receipt, or if otherwise noted on the tag, online or the receipt. All returns are subject to verification of original sale, and we reserve the right to limit returns.

Holiday purchases made from November 1-30, 2023 may be returned through January 15, 2024. Purchases made from December 1, 2023 and onward are subject to our regular return policy.

Do I need a receipt for returns?

Returns within 45 days of purchase date receive a full refund in the original form of payment, unless otherwise noted on the tag, online or receipt. A merchandise credit* will be issued (1) if original form of payment is not available, or (2) for returns to a store location for online purchases made using certain payment methods.

Returns will not be accepted without the printed, digital or gift receipt. Exchanges can be processed within 45 days for the same item/color in a different size.


NOTE: Merchandise may only be returned in the country in which it was originally purchased. We are currently unable to research online orders in the stores. Online Exclusive styles cannot be exchanged in store. Items must not have any signs of wear or damage. If a return does not meet our requirements, we reserve the right to refuse and discard the items without providing a refund.


*Merchandise credit is not redeemable for cash (unless required by law) and cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or used without customer permission. Terms and conditions apply and can be found on the back of the merchandise credit.

EXCHANGES

Merchandise can be exchanged in stores, except for Online Exclusive styles (including Sugar & Jade and select PJ Place merchandise). Exchanges cannot be processed by mail.

What items cannot be returned?

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged and are FINAL SALE:


  • Health & beauty accessories
  • Pillows
  • Jewelry dishes

What are the return requirements?

  • Must be an item from The Children’s Place, Gymboree, Sugar & Jade or PJ Place
  • Must be within 45 days of the purchase date
  • Must not be a FINAL SALE item (the following are FINAL SALE items: health and beauty accessories, pillows and jewelry dishes)
  • Must not have any signs of wear or damage

How do I return/exchange my purchases?

RETURN IN STORE RETURN BY MAIL

To return in any of our stores, please bring:

  • The printed receipt, digital receipt (via Ship Confirmation email or online
  • The item(s) you're returning
  • The original form of payment used for the purchase

NOTE: Merchandise can be exchanged in stores, except for Online Exclusive styles (including Sugar & Jade and select PJ Place merchandise).

To return by mail:

  • Print your digital receipt (via Ship Confirmation email or online account) or use your gift receipt/packing slip
  • Place the item(s) you’re returning along with the receipt in a box and seal it securely
  • Mail your package via the carrier of your choice to:

NOTE: Exchanges and in-store purchases are not accepted by mail. All costs associated with your return are your responsibility. We suggest you obtain a tracking number and insurance as we are not responsible for lost packages. We cannot refund original or return shipping charges.


I received a gift – how do I return/exchange it?

Return the gift to your nearest store location for a merchandise credit, which can be redeemed at any of our brands.

If you are returning a gift by mail, the original form of payment will be credited to the original purchaser. If a gift card was used, a merchandise credit will be emailed to the email address associated with the order.

When will I get my refund?

RETURN IN STORE RETURN BY MAIL
Refunds are processed and issued within 3-5 business days; If a gift card was used, a merchandise credit will be processed immediately. Refunds are processed and issued within 7-10 business days after a return has been received; If a gift card was used, a merchandise credit will be emailed to you within 2 weeks.

What is the price adjustment policy?

Price adjustment requests will be honored when items are purchased at FULL RETAIL price and if the merchandise is discounted within 7 days after the original purchase date. Sale and discounted items are not eligible for price adjustments. Price adjustments can only be processed with the receipt.

Coupons and web codes offering discounts on your entire purchase cannot be applied toward previously placed orders or prior purchases.


IN-STORE PURCHASES ONLINE PURCHASES
To receive a price adjustment for full retail priced items that went on sale within 7 days after the initial purchase date, please bring the receipt to any The Children's Place store location. A credit will be issued to the original form of payment. To receive a price adjustment for full retail priced items that went on sale within 7 days after the initial purchase date, please contact Customer Service. If you are due a Price Adjustment per the stated policy, a credit will be issued to the original form of payment.

Note: Online orders cannot receive price adjustments in our retail stores.
